Today was another exciting moment in this of dreams for my family. I graduated from Regis, my nephew graduated from Ralston Valley High School and now, Jake and Holly completed sixth grade at Van Arsdale Elementary. Jake and Holly both won awards and I was so proud of them. Its sad to think this will be the last continuation I will attend at Van Arsdale. Another door closes while another one opens. Next year the twins will attend Oberon Junior High and they will be off on another journey. They’ll be highs and lows, but its another step for them to grow up. Both of them are into sports and I know they will pursue sports when they enter high school, but for now, I just want to watch them attend junior high school and see what new paths they discover. I envy them. A whole new road will lead them to so many adventures. I remember how excited I was when I attended Drake Junior High so long ago. I even still remember the cheer: We’re from Drake Junior High, couldn’t be prouder. If you don’t believe, let’s sing a little louder. Why has this stuck with me? I don’t know. Maybe its because I had so many ups and downs in junior high, but then who doesn’t? Holly and Jake, I tip my hat to you and wish you many successes.
