A Writer’s Journey

I have decided to take the plunge and try self-publishing along with two other authors. We will be writing a paranormal anthology which will be coming out this October. Each week, I will be posting my progress on my story. To start with, my setting is based in Frisco, Colorado, one of my favorite places in the world, and will be set during ski season. My hero, Eric, is a demon from the Underworld, and my heroine, Cassandra, is a woman whose blood is tainted with angel blood. Eric is seeking Cassandra to save his dying world and forces her to come with him. What can I say, he’s a demon.

Currently, I have 5000 thousands words written and with the help of the other two authors, I have my plots points iron down.  This story is something I started previously. I fell in love with the characters and since I have received positive feedback from my critique group, I want to resurrect it.   I am very excited about fleshing out more of the story and bringing Eric and Cassandra to life.

I am actually starting on a blank page, something I learned from William Haywood Henderson at Lighthouse Writers Workshop.  To start, I already changed the opening scene, and it flows better.  One of my critique partners told me writing is tight which is a definite compliment.

Till next week.
