I just released my new Christmas novella, A Vampire’s Fallen Christmas Star. I love rock stars and what could be better than rock stars and vampires?
I have to admit I’m a throw back girl to the 1980’s and 1990’s. I grew up with Van Halen, Bon Jon Jovi, Rolling Stones, and Def Leppard. But my favorite was Eddie Van Halen. He turned all my buttons with his long, black hair, bad boy smile, and mischievous eyes. I hate to admit this, but I had a poster of him over my bed. I still remember it. He was playing with his guitar, had on red overalls, and a cigarette dangling from his mouth. Hot, hot, hot.
My hero, Jayden, isn’t as famous as Eddie. He’s part of a local mountain band, but he’s definitely a heart throb and a bad boy. He blames himself for his twin brother’s death and he’s definitely not in the Christmas spirit. His guilt pushes him to go up to a lake to make peace with his brother, but he slips and impales himself on a jagged tree. He’s dying.
But when a beautiful vampire gives him the choice to die or an immortal life, he choses life. Jayden finds everything he holds true is false. His best friend is a vampire killer, and now, he wants Jayden’s head on a platter. He is swept up in a world of vampires and vampire killers. To survive, he must trust Eleanor and he finds she’s both vulnerable and an accomplished fighter—only together can they defeat their enemies.
There will be a third book in this series, and it will be about Jayden’s drummer. The first book is A Vampire’s Christmas Wish.
Janus isn’t a rock star, but he’s the vampire who sets the series in motion. A Vampire’s Christmas Wish isn’t set in Frisco, Colorado. It’s set in Hawaii. But the heroine is from Colorado.
Halloween is around the corner. I love watching all the horror movies. One of my new favorites is the Conjuring. Yes, it’s a horror movie, but there’s a love story embedded in it between Ed and Lorraine Warren. Their belief in each other is what helps them defeat the darkness. Remember Poltergeist? Stephen and Diane Freely have that same bond. Romance is what makes those movies.
Anyway, I wanted to wish you all a scary and safe Halloween!
